Student Reflection journal. Develop a positive mindset

Are you looking for a resource that will help your students to develop goal setting and growth mindset through reflection and self monitoring? This resource is designed to be used over the course of a year, so that there is a record of self evaluation taken by students throughout the year.  Self reflection and monitoring are skills that we all need for life. This resource will engage your students throughout the school year, and at the end they have a record of achievements and changes that they have made as they have grown. Developing a positive mindset amongst your students is such an important and integral part of the hidden curriculum, but basic to all of our daily lives. It is not a skill that comes easily and one that needs to be explicitly taught and fostered to enable your students to build a positive mindset. This can be added to your students portfolio as a record of achievements and for reflection. Photocopy extra pages as needed, and I hope that this resource serves you well throughout the year. Suitable for students in middle to upper primary grades. This is an instant download pdf file for you to print and use with your students. Teaching suggestions are included. The best part? This resource requires NO PREP and is easy to use. You can choose to print these pages for students to use a printable journal or booklet. What people are saying about this resource Very satisfied “I have been using these for the new semester to help my students prepare for student led parent conferences. My students struggled with them at first but now they look forward to using them and meeting with me to complete them.” Very satisfied “They are great forms and work better in person than for distance learning. This set of cards and teacher notes contains 24 Scenario cards with blank multicultural faces on them. They can be used laminated as playdough mats or to draw on with whiteboard markers. Googly eyes also work really well with this activity and a lot of fun (eye not included) You can use them as discussion starters shown on the whiteboard and discuss how each character would be feeling What would their faces look like? How would their eyes look? Would they have wrinkles on their forehead? Why or why not? How would their mouth look?I have included smaller versions of the cards so that students could use these in barrier games where one child makes a face, and then has to describe to a partner what their face looks like (there is a book or screen between them) This is a wonderful activity for talking and listening. Keep organized and brighten your room at the same time with these beautiful, brightly colored CLOUDS AND RAINBOWS PATTERN trolley labels These labels are created to fit the 1- 12 drawer rolling carts that many teachers use to keep organized. In the US they are available from Michael’s and in Australia they can be bought in Kmart or Spotlight stores. There are two styles, one with rectangular labels, the other to use with those drawers that are angled slightly at the sides. Included in the pack are 3 differerent font styles so that you can use the set that best suits your aged group. The fonts that I have used are included in the pack. If you don’t have them installed on your computer, I have provided a link to the stores should you want to buy them. APL Big Mama APL Heart Eyes AG Taco Tuesday I included some already made labels (These are just the labels that I used and thought I needed), but I have included a set of editable labels in each design. I have also included the fonts that I used in the following slide. HOW TO USE PDF Version: Simply download the file, print using a colored printer, cut and laminate for durability. Printing on cardstock also helps to make them last longer. Attach your signs to the drawers using double sided tape, glue gun or blutak. In some trolley designs, you may need to put a hole in the sign for the drawer knob to be reattached after the sign has been applied. HOW TO EDIT THE POWERPOINT VERSION These made to measure labels are EDITABLE which means you can type in your desired text to suit your individual organisational needs. You will need to have Microsoft Powerpoint installed on your computer to open and edit this file. Once unzipped from the download file, open the PowerPoint and in order to use the same font it must be installed onto your machine. A set of blanks is provided for you to create and entire set using the font of your choice. Simply duplicate the slides and edit the text boxes with your desired fonts and labels. You can bold your font, increase or decrease the size, underline… the freedom is yours. When finished, print the slides that you need, or save all as jpeg files and then print each individually as needed What People are saying about these storage labels “I love these labels! I’ve created months of the year, subject headings, station labels and cabinet labels. I love the rainbow theme and it goes perfectly in my classroom. Thank you for creating this!” This is for use by one teacher in one classroom. If you would like to share with your colleagues, PLEASE purchase a multiple license.
